DOHWA DISTRICT RE-DEVELOPMENT PROJECT, INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA

200 acres of land in the center of Incheon. Development costs US$5,000,000,000

The Dohwa District Project is part of a massive urban renewal project focused on improving the quality of life in the City of Incheon. It is a massive humanitarian and commercial development which will provide more than 10,000 full time jobs on the site and untold thousands of additional jobs will be supported by the support companies, manufacturers and services that will fulfill the aims of the project. The economy and tax base will be significantly improved and will help bring back the City its modern significance.

The Dohwa Project is interesting and unique, being built on a two level plane; one at ground level and one level, fully underground. Much of the “City” will be built with buildings, streets and walkways totally underground. This concept, though beautifully and aesthetically built, will create a high level of economy of construction, environmental control and efficiency of movement for its visitors and residents alike.

The Mayor and City Government of Incheon have fully endorsed the redevelopment project related to relative entitlements. Further, they have completed a 300 page feasibility study and this study came back with an “A” rating related to risk assessment.
